JASTARNIA-
city in northen part of the Pomeranial Province, on the
Helska Spit, at the Baltic Sea (from north) and Pucka Bay
(from south) – 3 900 inhabitants. The first note about
this town is from 1378, when it was known as fishman’s
village. It is a holiday resort, rest center and has
harbour for passanger ships, fishing port, fishing trade,
fish smokehouses. In 1954 the seaside resorts in Jurata
and Kuźnica was joined to the boards of the town in an
administrative way. Worth seeing is a fishmen’s church
Haunt of Mother of God from 1931, fishmen’s house from
1876, built with the wood from broken ships, fishmen’s
houses from XIX age of framework. |
